Product Characteristics: GeneFECTOR is a liposomal formulation of a polycationic lipid and a neutral, non-transfecting lipid compound. GeneFECTOR is recommended for primary cell cultures and has been successfully used to transfect DNA into HepG2, COS, PC12, NIH3T3, SH-SY5Y, Jurkat, primary rat and hamster hepatocytes, primary rat cardiomyocytes,primary male rat and chicken germ cells, primary chick retinal neurons,primary rat fibroblasts, primary rat cortical neurons,primary quail myoblasts, primary human keratinocytes and tracheobronchial cells. Peak activities were achieved using 1-4 µg GeneFECTOR per µg DNA on the tested cell lines grown in 35 mm dishes. Therefore, 1 milliliter GeneFECTOR is sufficient for 250-1000 transfections. No significant toxicity was observed at the concentrations used for optimal activity on the cell lines tested. GeneFECTOR is provided as a sterile suspension in water at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. NovaFECTOR is recommended for inmortal cell lines and has been successfully used to transfect DNA or RNA into CHO-K1, COS, NIH3T3, LNCaP, T-24, 293, C2C12, Schneider (Drosophila), SF-9, human bone marrow endothelial cells (HBMEC), primary rat aortic smooth muscle, primary rabbit myoblasts, primary human keratinocytes. Peak activities were achieved using 2-6 µg NovaFECTOR per µg DNA on the tested cell lines grown in 35 mm dishes. Therefore, 1 milliliter NovaFECTOR is sufficient for 160-500 transfections. The reagent works in 10% serum medium. No significant toxicity was observed at the concentrations used for optimal activity on the cell lines tested. NovaFECTOR is provided as a sterile suspension in water at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. Store at 4 C or above, DO NOT FREEZE.
